OTIS (OSU Tidal Inversion Software)
implements the efficient representer
calculation scheme, which forms the basis for a practical relocatable
tidal data inversion package. OTIS includes software for
generating grids, prior model covariances, and boundary conditions; for
solving linear shallow water equations by direct factorization; for
tidal processing of TOPEX/POSEIDON altimeter data; for solution of the
GI problem; and for computation of posterior error bars. Approximate
solution methods, based on using a reduced set of representers for the
general inversion calculation allow very large data sets to be
inverted. With OTIS regional and local tidal inverse problems (with
grids containing up to 10e5 nodes) require only a few hours on a common
desktop workstation. The methods implemented in OTIS are described in details by Egbert, Bennett, and Foreman,1994 and further by Egbert and Erofeeva, 2002 Use menu on the left to access global and regional tidal solutions, obtained with OTIS, OTIS documentation and current version of OTIS. |
